COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS

After years of experience, I have found that there are questions that every bride has when she begins to look for the wedding cake of her dreams. Listed below are some of the most popular ones.

Q. Do your cakes taste as good as they look?

A. You bet! My cakes are well known for their great taste. My frosting is made with butter and whipping cream. People cannot get enough of it.

Q. Are traditional cakes the only kind of wedding cakes you create?

A. My cakes are special because they are made with my special frosting. I, therefore, do not make cakes that require other types of frostings, such as fondant.

Q. Can I choose more than one flavor of cake?

A. Yes, each tier may be a different flavor of cake.

Q. What flavors are available?

A. Most flavors are available. The most frequently requested flavors are: White, Butter Vanilla, Devil's Food (Angel Friendly), Chocolate, Strawberry, Banana, Cherry and Carrot (with and without raisins and/or nuts. There are too many to list. If you have a special flavor, you just have to ask.

Q. Can you copy a picture from a magazine?

A. I do it all the time! Many people like my reproductions better than the original I am copying. I love to see new ideas and creating new cakes.

Q. Does your prices include fresh flowers?

A. No. You will need to order your flowers through your florist. You get the best price that way, and you are sure the flowers will match.

Q. What size cake will I need?

A. That depends on how you will be using it. Will it be on display for most of the evening and cut toward the end? Will some of your guests have come and gone before you cut the cake?

Is the cake serving as dessert? In this instance, you need to be sure you have a nice sized slice for each guest, which usually requires a larger cake... "Dessert slices" are larger than a "reception slice".

Remember, that next to you in your dress, your cake will be the most talked about after the wedding.

***Please note: Any cake you see can be made in either a larger, or a smaller version. Don't choose your cake style solely by the size you see in pictures.

Q. How soon do I need to order my cake?

A. 2-3 months prior to your wedding. May, June, and August fill quickly, so it is best to order as early as you can for these months. We will book a year in advance. A $100 deposit will put you on our calendar. ½ is then due 1 month prior to your wedding with the balance due 2 weeks prior to your wedding.

Q. Do you charge for set up and delivery?

A. We do not charge for set up and usually do not charge for delivery, but with current gas prices, we do have to charge for delivery over 35 miles.
